HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Sage Brinckerhoff has been named Empire 8 Women's Tennis Co-Rookie of the Year and joins teammate
Arija Grant in earning all-conference honors following the fall 2025 season.
In addition to her individual honor, Brinckerhoff earned All-E8 Second Team recognition in singles and teamed with Grant in earning Third Team Doubles honors.
Brinckerhoff enjoyed a tremendous debut for Houghton, leading her team to an E8 Tournament berth. Playing at first and second singles, Brinckerhoff finished 7-5 overall and teamed with Grant to go 5-3 in E8 play at first doubles.
Grant was also selected to the E8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. One member of each team was named that institution's representative. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
"Developing character and integrity is a hallmark of the Empire 8," said E8 Executive Director
Chuck Mitrano. "This series is proof that Empire 8 and our member institutions are committed to intercollegiate athletics' important role in higher education."
