Box Score NORHTFIELD, Vt. -- Houghton men's tennis dropped a 6–1 road match to the Norwich University Cadets on Saturday in Northfield.
In doubles play, Houghton earned a win at No. 2 as Jonas Likens and Benjamin Unger defeated their opponents 6–3. However, Norwich secured the doubles point by winning the matches at No. 1 and No. 3. At the top spot, Rune Camps and Eben Schilke fell 6–2, while Caleb Hilsher and James Adenuga dropped a 6–2 decision at No. 3.
In singles action, Jonas Likens picked up Houghton's lone team point with a strong performance at No. 3 singles, earning a straight-set victory that included a second-set tiebreak.
Rune Camps battled in a competitive match at No. 1 singles before falling 6–4, 7–5, while Eben Schilke dropped a 6–3, 6–2 decision at No. 2.
Benjamin Unger pushed his No. 4 singles match to three sets after taking the opening set but ultimately fell 3–6, 6–2, 6–3. Caleb Hilsher also competed closely at No. 5 singles, dropping a 6–1, 7–5 match, and James Adenuga rounded out the lineup with a loss at No. 6 singles.
Houghton is back at home for its next match, hosting Lycoming on Friday, March 20 at 3 p.m.
