Men's Tennis Closes Out Fall with Loss to Grove City

Box Score HOUGHTON, NY—The Houghton men's tennis team wrapped up their three-game fall season with a 7-0 loss to the Grove City Wolverines on Saturday afternoon.  While the men competed well in every match, they could not overcome a well-seasoned Grove City team.

Nolan Zach and Preston Tobolski at first-doubles, and Ben Unger and Jason Murphy at second-doubles, both battled the Wolverines to tough, 4-6 losses.

"I am really happy with our performance in doubles today," stated Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach, Jordan Crouch. "I asked the team to focus on our intensity and effort and I think we did a great job on all [nine] matches with that.

"Grove City's a team that has had a lot of success in recent years. I was happy to get them on our schedule to test our team this early into the season. We have lots we need to work on the rest of this semester and into next year but I'm so happy to get to work with this group. Let's go Highlanders!"

The Highlander men will not play again until Saturday, March 29, when they will host conference rival St. John Fisher at 1:00 p.m.
