HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- After claiming its fifth-straight Empire 8 regular season title, Houghton men's tennis is seeded No. 1 and will serve as host of the 2024 Empire 8 Men's Tennis Championship on Friday and Saturday.
Houghton will be seeking its third E8 title in four seasons.

The Highlanders take on No. 4 seed Alfred at 1 p.m., followed by the second semifinal featuring No. 2 Nazareth vs. No. 3 St. John Fisher at 4 p.m. Both semifinal matches will be played on the outdoor courts. Saturday's championship match will be played at 1 p.m. Expected inclement weather could force the championship match into the Kerr-Pegula Field House.
Houghton is coming off another perfect regular season in the E8 (7-4 overall; 6-0 E8) and is in the midst of a 43-match E8 regular season win streak.
Micah Schilke is 6-3 on the season at first singles, while
Levi Webb is 7-1 at second singles, while
Nolan Zach has competed all season at third singles.
Graham Cook,
Jonas Likens and
Preston Tobolski are also strong singles performers. Houghton's three doubles teams have excelled in league play, combining to win all 18 doubles matches. Zach and
Levi Webb are the first doubles team, while Schilke and Cook have competed at second doubles, along with
Jason Murphy and
Tobias Webb at third doubles.
