HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton men's soccer senior Alex Kalivoda was named to the Empire 8 Third Team after the 2024 fall season, in voting conducted by the E8 head coaches.

In addition, teammate Aidan Fish was Houghton's representative on the E8 Men's Soccer Sportsman of the Year Team.

Kalivoda was recognized for his play at midfield, where he scored two goals and added three assists. He tied for the team lead with 28 shots and was second with 14 shots on goal. Kalivoda wrapped up his four-year career with 12 goals and 17 assists over 62 games played.

Fish is Houghton's rep on the 2024 E8 Men's Soccer Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
