Houghton Men's Tennis won their third 9-0 victory of the 2018-19 tennis season against conference opponent Sage College on Saturday afternoon. This puts the Highlanders 3-0 in conference play for the 2019 season. Damp weather delayed the start time of the match slightly, however the Highlanders compensated by scoring a quick lead in the doubles to start the match off 3-0. Between the three Houghton doubles teams, only a game was lost to the Sage Gators.

The singles matches proceeded in quick order, with Junior Jake Fisler being the first Highlander off court. Fisler won his match 6-0, 6-0, and also managed to pull off a rare feet in tennis – the Golden Set (meaning he did not lose a single point in the match's first set). Two additional Highlanders won their singles matches without dropping a single game: Seniors Zach Shilvock and Ethan Baker. At number one singles, Louis-Guillaume Garcia defeated Henry Golden 6-2, 6-0. Ethan Yung won his fourth singles match against Logan Fournia 6-0, 6-1. And Freshman Micah Christensen scored a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ryan Burke.

The Highlander's next matchup is against E8 team St. John Fisher on Tuesday afternoon.
