HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton men's tennis turned in a dominant performance at home Tuesday, taking an 8-1 win over visiting Penn State Behrend.
Chase Rangel, Zach Shilvock, Jordan Scott, Bjorn Webb and Ethan Baker each claimed wins in singles play. Jordan Crouch just missed out on a match victory, splitting tiebreakers with his opponent in the first two sets before losing 10-4 in a superset third set.
Rangel and Crouch, Scott and Webb, and Shilvock and Connor Barnes formed the teams that swept the Lions in doubles play.
The Highlanders improved their record to 5-5 on the season. They return to action on Friday, April 8 when they host Keuka College.
