Box Score BETHANY, W. Va. -- Paul Chapman (Kemptville, ON, Canada, North Greenville District High School) scored five goals and added an assist to the lead the Highlanders in a 21-11 season opening loss to Bethany College in men's lacrosse action Tuesday.

After staking the hosts to a 1-0 lead, the Highlanders scored three-straight in just over a minute to go up 3-1. Sean Daigler (Elma, NY , Iroquois High School) opened the scoring, with Chapman netting the next two. Bethany scored two more before Chapman scored again to give the Highlanders a 4-3 lead at the end of one.

However, the hosts scored three straight to start the second to go up 6-4. Bethany took an 8-7 lead into the halftime break.

Two three goal runs, bookending two goals by the Highlanders, gave the Bison a 14-9 lead. Chapman scored his fifth of the day with 12:37 left in the fourth quarters, but the hosts scored seven of the final eight goals to grab the win.

Josh Bailey (Millerton, PA , Williamson High SSchool ) added four goals and an assist for the Highlanders, who were outshot 61-34 on the night. Groundballs were 54-36 in favor of the Bison.

Josh Haingray (Houghton, NY , Houghton Academy ) stopped 15 shots in net.

Houghton is back in action on Thursday, Feb. 26 when they on Franciscan University.
