Houghton Goal Keeper
Jeremy Harris had a busy evening as the Poet's offense showered 62 shots including 42 that were on the net. While Harris was able to save 20, the Poet's offensive attack proved to be too much for the Highlanders to handle.

Lyle Warrior and
Jonathan Mayer. Mayer's goal cut the score to 3-2 in favor of the Poets.
From there, the Poets would close out the first quarter with a pair of goals in the final two minutes to go into the first break 5-2.
Whittier's offensive brigade would score 13 unanswered goals stretching their lead to 16-2 before Houghton's
Austin Andryshak could respond for the Highlanders in the third quarter.
Andryshak would score again late in the third quarter and again in the fourth, but it was not enough as they Poets cruised to a 22-5 victory.

COACH'S CORNER
"We started the game off well. It took us a few minutes to get settled in. Unfortunately, Whittier was able to put together a strong second quarter and put us in a difficult spot. While it is disappointing to lose a game, we have a great opportunity to learn from this and hopefully apply those things to our game this Tuesday."

Andrew Lundeen
