KISSIMMEE, Fla., -- Houghton women's soccer received good news over the weekend, as they have officially earned a qualifying spot at the 2025 NCCAA Division I National Championship Tournament.
The eight-team championship is set for December 1-6 at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Highlanders are seeded No. 3 and will play their first game of pool play against No. 6 Redeemer on Monday, December 1 at 2:30 p.m. Houghton takes on No. 7 Wayland Baptist on Tuesday, December 2 at 2:30 p.m., and closes pool play vs. No. 2 Southwestern Christian on Thursday, December 4 at 2:30 p.m.
The top teams in each pool will play for the Championship on Saturday, December 6 at 4 p.m.
Houghton has a record of 11-5-3. The 11 wins are the most since the team won the same amount in 2016. The five losses are the fewest since 2013 (not counting the shortened 2021 spring season). The Highlanders also produced its largest conference win total with five since joining the E8 in 2014.
This is the program's first appearance at the tournament since advancing to the semifinals in 2016. Houghton won the National Championship in 2015.
