CHILI, NY – A select group of All-Atlantic Regional qualifiers competed in the Redhawks Capstone Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College, on Friday. It turned out to be quite an elite meet, and perfect weather to go along with it. The Highlanders posted several personal and season best marks, included
Nathaniel Zedomi's program record in the 200m of 22.53. This bests former teammate, Isaac Worrall's mark of 22.55 that was set in 2019.
Edena Sanchez raced a personal best, and 10
th place finish in the 200m, at 27.03. She also competed in the 100m, for the first time in her career, to work on speed for the upcoming regional meet.
Hayden Williamson competed in the high jump, and ran a personal best in the 200m. The men's 4 x 100m, of
Micah Williams,
Brennan Lewandowski,
Jerome Houston, and
Nathaniel Zedomi, posted a season's best time of 44.35.
Dillon Bell and
Dave Russo ran outdoor personal bests in the 5k, of 15:45 and 15:51 to cap off the day.
"We had absolute perfect conditions and competition to go and compete well. The vibe of a small group like this was really fun. I think we are ready to go Wednesday and Thursday for regionals!" remarked Coach Hager after the meet.
The Highlanders will compete in the All-Atlantic Region Championships on Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week.
