The Houghton University track & field teams turned in an impressive performance Saturday at the Hamilton Continental Invitational, highlighted by multiple event wins, numerous podium finishes, and strong depth across both the men's and women's teams.
Women's Highlights
Houghton was led by a standout performance from Alexa Belanger, who won the high jump with a clearance of 1.58 meters, hitting the AARTFC qualifying standard.
On the track, the Highlanders dominated the 400-meter hurdles, placing three athletes in the top four. Amelia Jones finished second (1:10.03), followed by Sophie Heilman in third (1:11.17) and Mindy Yoder in fourth.
In the throws, Grace Neeley earned a third-place finish in the javelin (25.15m), leading a strong effort in the event.
The distance group also contributed a podium performance, as Rachael Smith placed third in the 5000 meters (20:21.07), with Mae Ennis (4th) and Delaney Grant (5th) adding depth.

Men's Highlights
The Houghton men delivered one of their strongest collective performances of the season, highlighted by a sweep of the top two spots in the 100 meters.
Claveze Robinson captured the event title (11.20), followed closely by Kealon Knight in second (11.24). Robinson also anchored the 4x100 relay team (Knight, Luke Waterhouse, Michael Solomon), which placed second overall in an AARTFC-qualifying time of 43.25.
In the distance events, Luke Ellis earned a third-place finish in the 5000 meters (16:22.46), while teammate Kurt Akins added another podium performance with a runner-up finish in the 10,000 meters (35:04.21).
