HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton Men's Soccer played Russell Sage to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon in an Empire 8 Conference match at Burke Field. Houghton moved to 2-2-3 overall and 0-1-2 in Empire 8 play.

Game Flow
Houghton took an early lead when James Fay scored in the sixth minute. Fay's goal came at 5:20 after his initial shot was saved by Russell Sage goalkeeper Mateja Milutin. Houghton carried the 1-0 advantage into halftime.
The Highlanders continued to hold the lead into the second half. Joshua Smith kept Houghton in front by saving Anthony Geis' penalty kick in the 72nd minute. Russell Sage eventually equalized at 74:54 when Dimitri Gogas scored. Houghton had a late corner kick and a shot from John Fay in the closing minutes, but neither produced a go-ahead goal.
Houghton finished with a 7-2 advantage in shots, including a 4-3 edge in shots on goal, while Russell Sage held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
