Competing on their home track at the Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse,
Houghton University athletes delivered a strong set of performances at the Houghton Last Chance Qualifier, highlighted by event wins, podium finishes, and depth across all disciplines as the indoor season reached its final stretch.
Women's Highlights
- 5,000m: Noelle Linenfelser and Rachael Smith finished 1st and 2nd in near-identical times of 19:47.91 and 19:47.97. This was Smith's first time going under 20 minutes in the 5k.
- Mile: Amy Collins won the event in 5:40.92.
- 400m: Kyra Binney earned the victory in 1:02.30, which is 8th all-time for Houghton.
- Women's Shot Put: Maggie Almeter won with a throw of 10.59 meters.
Men's Highlights
- 800m: Henry Sardina won in 1:57.45.
- Mile: Connor Little came in at 4:30.84, landing him at 10th all time in the history books.
- 5,000m: Luke Ellis claimed the event victory in 16:30.26.
- 4x200m Relay: Houghton finished second behind PSU-Behrend, smashing the previous school record with a time of 1:32.07. This time qualified them for AARTFC's.
