HOUGHTON, NY – Olivia Simser scored 16 points in the first quarter as the Houghton Highlanders won another crucial Empire 8 matchup with the cross-county rival Alfred Saxons, 85-51.
Simser hit all four three-pointers she took, and went 6-for-8 overall, in the opening 10 minutes, leading the Highlanders to a 25-15 lead.
Houghton would force 28 Saxon turnovers on the game, as they continued to separate throughout, winning all four quarters.
