Highlanders Blank Lycoming, Move to 3-0

HOUGHTON, NY – Annika Galen collected six saves, and the Houghton defense proved tight as a drum, as the Highlanders picked up their third win, and second shutout, of the young season over the Lycoming Warriors, 3-0.

The Highlanders took the lead in the 10th minute of play, when Kylee Barshinger slid a pass into the middle of the circle to Oliva Ocker, who turned on her defender and pounded home her first goal of the season.

COACH'S CORNER
"A 3-0 score doesn't make it seem like a defensive game, but our attack was successful because of the way our backs were involved and pressing forward for all four quarters.

"I'm excited that we continue to see assists and goals come from a variety of players at this point in the season.

"We have a core group of 60-minute players who are holding their ground extremely well and remain threatening from start to finish.  All good things!" – Head Coach Hannah Ogden
