HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Seeing its first match action of the season, Houghton men's tennis lost 7-0 to Oneonta on Tuesday at the Kerr-Pegula Field House.
The Dragons took a point by winning all three doubles matches, but Houghton made them earn it with strong play at second and third doubles. The tandem of
Jonas Likens and
Jason Murphy lost 7-5 in their match, while
Benjamin Unger and
Isaac Anderson lost 6-4.
In singles play,
Rune Camps had Houghton's best opportunity to earn a point at second singles. The freshman lost his first set 6-1, rebounded with a 6-3 second set win, but fell 6-2 in the third set. Unger also performed well at fifth position, losing 6-4, 6-4.
This was Houghton's only scheduled match for the fall portion of the season. They will return to action in late March.
