Coming off of a 12-day break, the Highlanders hosted the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers. Looking to pick up their first victory of the season, the Highlanders came out strong with both teams trading points. In the middle of the first set, the Lakers capitalized on some key defensive plays and paired that with a strong offensive attack and took the first set 25-17.
 
The Lakers continued to use that momentum throughout the match taking the second and third sets, 25-20 and 25-18 respectively. The block for the Lakers proved to be the difference in the match stopping any offensive rhythm from the Highlanders putting up 13 total blocks to the Houghton's four total blocks. On the offensive side, FLCC was efficient hitting .229 for the match.
