HOUGHTON, N.Y. — Houghton men's volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision to Penn State Behrend in AMCC action Tuesday evening inside the Nielsen Center.

The Highlanders pushed the Lions late, battling to a 26-24 score in the third set, but Behrend ultimately secured the sweep (25-13, 25-18, 26-24).

Devin Cline led the Houghton attack with a match-high eight kills while adding seven digs.

Jonah Sissel and Michael McGlynn each added four kills, with Sissel also recording seven digs to tie for the team lead.

Setter Jerry Buno distributed 15 assists and matched the team-high with seven digs, contributing on both sides of the ball.

Defensively, Houghton totaled 40 digs as a team, with Ferron Mitchell adding five and Judah Kennel contributing four.

At the net, Jared Wright led the Highlanders with three block assists, part of a six-block team effort.

Houghton showed its strongest push in the third set, recording 10 kills on a .176 hitting percentage and forcing 12 ties and eight lead changes in the frame before Behrend closed out the match.
