BRADFORD, PA— For the second time this season, the Houghton Highlanders eclipsed the 100-point threshold in a win over the Pitt-Bradford Panthers. The Highlanders once again capitalizing on a deep bench, some tenacious defense, and some sharpshooting to pick up their sixth win of the season, 103-66.
In a furious first half, Houghton jumped out to a 26-14 lead after the first quarter, and led, 54-29, at the midway point, thanks in large part to a 60 percent shooting clip (9-for-15) from long-range.
The Highlanders kept their foot on the gas throughout the third quarter, outpacing the Panthers, 31-19, as Houghton hit 7-of-8 from the foul line.
Over the final 10 minutes the two teams played a 18-18 draw, but by that time the Highlanders could coast to the victory.
