HAMBURG, NY – As is becoming their calling card, the Houghton Highlanders utilized a swarming defense and a deep bench to dismantle the Hilbert Hawks on Wednesday evening, moving to 4-0 with a 85-32 victory.
 
The Highlanders forced 35 Hilbert turnovers, 18 of which came by steal, and scored 45 points off those turnovers.
 
Houghton outscored the Hawks, 22-to-8, in the opening quarter and never looked back, knocking down over 41 percent of their shots from the field.
 
The Highlanders continued to let it rain from beyond the arc, hoisting 32 long-range bombs, while converting 10 (31.3 percent).

>> Teghan Trocki notched a career-best 13 points to lead the Highlanders, while Anna Dening chipped in 11.
 
>> Crysta LaCrosse scored 10 points and added six assists.  She now has 911 career points and 340 career assists, moving into sole possession of fifth place on the all-time career assist leader board. She is now eight assists behind fourth-place-holder Charity O'Connor (1994-97).
 
>> All 12 Highlanders etched their names in the scorer's column, 10 of whom scored at least five points.

The Highlanders head to Bradford, Pennsylvania on Friday, for a rematch with the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford Panthers at 5:00 p.m.  The Highlanders defeated the Panthers two weeks ago in the season opener at the Nielsen Center, 114-40.
