HOUGHTON, NY – Alexa Belanger continued to rack up the kills, posting 14 more on Friday night, as the Houghton Highlanders defeated the Keuka Wolves in straight sets, 3-0.
In the opening set, the Wolves took the opening point before trading points with the Highlanders; after which, Houghton scored five straight points and led for the remainder of the set.
In the second, Houghton held a 7-5 lead early, before scoring 18 of the next 20 points, including a stretch of 11-straight points behind the serving of
Praylan Perkins, to take a 2-0 lead, 25-7.
Keuka battled to keep things close in the third, trailing by only two points late in the set, 22-20. But Houghton quickly clipped off the final three points to take the final set, 25-20.
