ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- St. John Fisher scored twice in each half to take a 4-0 win over Houghton in women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
The host Cardinals opened the scoring in the 14th minute and added one more in the 41st minute to a take a 2-0 lead into the break. The lead would grow to 3-0 with a Fisher penalty kick in the 61st, and just 67 seconds later, the hosts would put their final score on the board.
Houghton struggled to put much pressure on the Cardinals defense, producing just three shots on the afternoon. Defensively, the Highlanders withstood a potent Fisher attack that put 26 total shots toward net, including 18 on goal.
Preslee Miller had a busy day between the pipes, registering 14 saves.
Houghton now will face SUNY Poly at home on Saturday, October 18 at 2 p.m.
