ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Preslee Miller made five saves and recorded her seventh shutout of the season as Houghton women's soccer played to a 0-0 tie with Hartwick on the road Saturday.
It was a tough defensive battle between the teams. The Hawks had a chance in the 31st minute, but a hard shot just deflected off the crossbar and out of play.
Houghton forced the Hawks keeper into two late saves on shots by
Grace Russell and
Karryne Mims.
Hope Russell and Gracelynn Williams each had two shots to lead the Highlanders. Houghton was outshot, 11-6, on the afternoon.
It was a key point earned for Houghton, who currently sit in the eighth and final spot for E8 postseason play.
The Highlanders now travel to take on second place St. John Fisher on Wednesday, October 15 at 4 p.m.
