DETAILS
>> The game actually started on Saturday, but a lightning storm delayed the start of the contest. The teams were able to play 22 minutes when the weather cleared, and Karynne Mims put the Highlanders up 1-0 off an assist from
Natalie Milne in the 21st minute, but more lightning forced another delay and ultimately suspended the game until Sunday.
>> When play resumed on Sunday, the game went back and forth with no clear dangerous scoring opportunities. The Highlanders pushed their way into Pioneer territory on several occasions, but the visitors packed the box and most Highlander shots were blocked by defenders.
NOTABLE STATS

COACH PELLEGRINO SAYS...
"Not ideal circumstances, but it was great to see a competitive mindset and effort from our entire squad. It was a really good gutsy win against a tough Utica team. Each conference game is key, so getting the win was big for us today!"
