HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton women's tennis dropped another E8 match Saturday afternoon, losing 6-3 to visiting Russell Sage College.
The Highlanders got wins at third doubles (
Clancey Cockle and
Kelsi Clapper)Â and fourth (
MyaKay Bartman) and fifth (
Zoe Zachery) singles.
"Hats off to Coach Branche and the Sage team. They have been improving steadily for the last few years and they are a strong team," said Heac Coach
Jordan Crouch. "Their No. 1 will be one of the top players in the conference this year. I was happy with our effort all day, and think it was a great test for us. I'm happy to get three wins today and we are going to use it to propel us in our training next week and beyond. Let's go Houghton!"
The Highlanders travels to take on Geneseo in an E8 match on Friday, September 27. This will be the first match against Geneseo -- now a member of the E8 -- since a 9-0 loss on September 28, 2021.
