Highlanders Turn in Dominant Offensive Performance in Win Over W&J

HOUGHTON, NY – Deborah Cross scored twice and Jace Hunzinger added a goal and an assist, as the Houghton Highlanders turned in another dominant performance, remaining undefeated with a 5-1 victory over former Empire 8 conference rival Washington & Jefferson.

Olivia Ocker opened the scoring for the Highlanders in the eighth minute, putting away her first collegiate tally.  And while Houghton outshot the Presidents, 7-1, in the opening period, W&J's one attempt on the Houghton cage tied the game, 1-1, only 35 seconds after Ocker's goal.

From that point on, the game would belong to the Highlanders.  Cross would score the first of her two goals in the 25th minute, giving the Highlanders a 2-1 lead at the half.  Hunzinger, Bekah Davie and Cross would all tack on second half goals, putting an exclamation point on the Houghton victory.
