ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Houghton men's tennis is still looking for win No. 1 after a 5-2 loss at Oneonta on Wednesday.
The Highlanders got wins from
Jason Murphy and
Wallace Palethorpe in third doubles and from
Preston Tobolski and Palethorpe in third and sixth singles, respectively.
"We got off to a sluggish start today against Oneonta and it came back to haunt us," said Head Coach Jordan Crouch. "After a long bus ride I didn't have the team ready to compete at the jump. Once we settled into the match we played much better but it was too little too late. Oneonta's a great team and we fought with them. We will be better moving forward. Let's Go Houghton!"
Houghton will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule on September 28 when they host Grove City College.
