HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Oswego State swept each individual match and took a 7-0 win over Houghton women's tennis in the Highlanders' home opener Saturday in the Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse.
Arija Grant put up a strong fight in her first singles match, eventually falling, 3-6, 4-6.
"Arija played great today in singles. She battled with a talented player from Oswego and was in the match the whole way through. I am proud of her effort," said Head Coach
Jordan Crouch. "Congrats to Oswego, they came prepared to play today and made us work harder than we were ready to. Lots of work to do on Monday but we are excited to do it."
Houghton returns to home action Thursday, September 5 when they host Cortland at 4 p.m.
