ROCHESTER, NY – The track & field teams traveled to the University of Rochester on Sunday for a beautiful day to compete. It was mid 50's and not a cloud in the sky. Amongst the competing teams were conference rivals St. John Fisher and Nazareth. Regional powerhouses SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo, and host Rochester also increased the level of competition. When all was said and done, Houghton took advantage of the conditions to produce nine top 10 performances, and several other significant Empire 8 marks.

"I always say, as long as we are still cracking the all-time top 10 lists then we are getting better as a program and raising the level of competition. Yesterday was the kind of the day that we needed to take advantage of because we don't get a lot of fantastic days like this in western New York. It feels like the season is just really getting started. This week ahead is a big check point for a lot of people. A big opportunity for our best distance runners at Bucknell, and a chance for the power athletes to get into a rhythm after busting the rust," Coach Hager spoke about the meet.
The teams will split this upcoming weekend. A majority of the team will compete at SUNY Brockport on 4/12-13, and a small group of distance runners will travel to Bucknell University on 4/13.
