Highlanders Beat Medgar Evers to Move to 8-0

BROOKLYN, NY – Another three-point barrage kept the Houghton Highlanders undefeated, as they defeated the Medgar Evers College Cougars on Friday night, 73-50.
 
The Highlanders shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc (better than they shot inside the arc), knocking down 14-of-36 long range shots, including a scorching 11-for-24 (46 percent) in the first half.
 
Houghton jumped out to an early 19-9 lead after the first 10 minutes, before entering the half, up 40-26.
 
While the Highlander changed strategies to more of an inside game in the second half, the results continued to be the same, and by the end of the third quarter, Houghton led by 27 points, 62-35.
 
The Cougars played their best basketball in the final 10 minutes, outscoring the Highlanders reserves, 15-11, limiting Houghton to only 20 percent shooting from the field.
