Highlanders Complete NYC Swing with Win Over John Jay

NEW YORK, NY – Kayla Camacho scored 24 points, and the Houghton Highlanders shot nearly 47 percent from the field, as they defeated the John Jay Bulldogs on the road, 82-55.

Despite playing less than 18 hours earlier, the Highlanders came out ready to go, knocking down 5-of-11 three-point attempts in the first 10 minutes while building a 25-12 advantage.

The Bulldogs evened-up in the second quarter, matching the Highlanders point-for-point, but Houghton's first quarter exploits still gave them a 40-27 advantage at the half.

Much like Friday night, the Highlanders mixed up their offensive strategy in the second half.  While they reduced the number of three-point attempts, that did not hinder their offensive production or efficiency.

The Highlanders hit 53 percent of their shots in the third quarter and 67 percent in the fourth, outpacing the Bulldogs by seven points in each of the final two quarters.
