ALBANY, N.Y. -- Sage scored two second-half goals to open up a tie game and grabbed a 3-1 win over Houghton in E8 women's soccer action on Saturday.

Though disheartening, the loss didn't affect Houghton's E8 Tournament hopes. The Highlanders still clinched a spot in the playoffs due to other conference results on Saturday.

Houghton currently sits in sixth place with 13 points. Final seedings for the eight-team tournament will be determined as we head into the final week of the regular season.

DETAILS
>> The teams traded goals late in the first half, with Sage scoring in the 36th minute and the Highlanders responding just 1:45 later. Taylor Curyto got the unassisted goal for Houghton. It was the fifth goal of the season for the sophomore.
>> The host Gators didn't take long to regain the lead, scoring what would be the eventual game-winner in the 48th minute. 
>> Sage added an insurance goal with just under 11 minutes remaining.
>> While the Highlanders found scoring chances in the first half and led in shots, 10-9, the second half was a different story. Houghton managed just two shots after the break, with Sage tallying eight.
