GENESEO, NY – The Geneseo Knights claimed a straight-set victory over the Houghton Highlanders on Friday evening, improving their conference record to 5-3 on the year.
The Highlanders made a game of it in the opening set, trading points with the Knights throughout, but a pair of three-point runs late in the set gave Geneseo the edge.
After the Knights rolled through the second set, 25-15, the Highlanders rallied in the third, eventually forcing set point, 25-24, on a service ace from
Logan Baer. But Geneseo peeled off three straight points, claiming the set, and the match, on a Houghton attack error.
