HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton women's soccer dropped a 6-2 decision to Geneseo in Empire 8 action at Burke Field on Wednesday.
The Highlanders scored once in each half but were unable to contain the potent attack of the Knights.
The loss moves Houghton's conference record to 4-4-1 and puts the Highlanders into sixth place in the E8 standings with 13 points. Geneseo and Brockport are the top two teams in the standings, with St. John Fisher, Nazareth and Sage also ahead of the Highlanders. The E8 tournament will feature the top-8 teams.
