HOUGHTON, NY – The Lycoming Warriors stunned the Houghton Highlanders on their home court on Tuesday night, overcoming a 2-0 start to win the final three sets, 3-2.
Houghton rolled through the first two sets, as the Warriors struggled to find any offensive rhythm.
But a slew of errors finally caught up to the Highlanders as Lycoming stabilized.
In the final set, the Warriors raced out to a 6-0 lead. But Houghton fought back, eventually pulling within a point late, 13-12, on a kill by
Ainslie Reimer.
A block by Lycoming gave them match-point, but an attack error again put Houghton within a point, 14-13. The Warriors, however, would seal the match on a kill by Alli Macensky.
