Oswego Erases Dominant Highlanders' Performance with Overtime Stunner

OSWEGO, NY – Just over three minutes into overtime, SUNY Oswego's Kate McNally found the back of the cage, stunning the Houghton Highlanders, 3-2.

Despite dominating the offensive end—holding lopsided advantages in both shots (26-9) and penalty corners (12-2)—the Highlanders traded goals with the Lakers throughout the game.

Oswego's Gabby Curtis put up the first tally with less than 30 seconds to play in the first quarter.  The score would remain 1-0 throughout the remainder of the half, despite a 10-1 shot barrage by the Highlanders.

Less than a minute into the second half, Jace Hunzinger put away her 11th goal of the season, knotting the score at 1-1.

Just over five minutes later, Oswego would answer to regain the lead.

With just over a minute to play in the third quarter, Deborah Cross once again tied the game with her sixth goal of the season.

The game would remain tied throughout the final quarter, setting up the thrilling overtime ending.
