HOUGHTON, NY – The Houghton track & field teams hosted an invitational with seven total teams in attendance. Local teams, such as Alfred University, Mansfield, Daemen, St. John Fisher were in attendance, with two out of region teams SUNY Delhi and Messiah making the trip. In their first meet back after Christmas break the Highlanders saw six top 3 performances at the meet, and many personal best performances.

"I've really enjoyed having two weeks of training coming back from break, rather than competing the first weekend we are back. It already feels like we've been back for awhile, and are in a rhythm. I felt like a smaller meet like this was a great way to open up. We saw a little bit of everything in regards to high levels of grit, busting the rust in race strategy, and figuring out steps and marks, etc. I really enjoy working through these things, and seeing the athletes process it all. When you have a supportive team environment, little frustrations sort of take care of themselves. The future it bright," commented Coach Hager after the meet.
