UTICA, NY – Jace Hunzinger slotted two more assists, giving her 14 on the season and 44 for her career, tying the Empire 8 career assist record as the Houghton Highlanders defeated the Utica Pioneers, 6-0, on Saturday evening.
Hunzinger found Deb Cross less than a minute and a half into the game for the game-winner.
Hunzinger and Cross would each add unassisted goals before the end of the first quarter, giving the Highlanders a 3-0 lead after the first 15 minutes.
Bekah Davie would tack on her 11
th and 12
th goals of the season before the end of the half, and Cate Westenberge scored the Highlanders final goal with just over two minutes to play in the game.
