GENESEO, NY – The track & field teams competed at SUNY Geneseo on Sunday and Monday, April 2
nd and April 3
rd. The original invitational was to be held on Saturday, April 1
st, but was postponed due to weather. The weather held up very nicely for the meet, with Sunday being a majority of distance events, and Monday being a majority of sprint, jump, and throws events. In the end, there were fourteen top 10 program marks sets and many top 5 Empire 8 marks (statistics not available yet).
"There isn't a lot of time to 'ease' into the outdoor season, after what seems like a break between indoor and outdoor. It's all the same training cycle, so we preached confidence in what we've already done. I'm happy with the teams ability to dive into this meet be willing to 'fail' by putting it all out there. In some ways, we have a lot to live up to the rest of the season by starting so strong. There's no doubt we will give it our best effort to do so," remarked Coach Hager after the meet.
