Houghton University Men's Tennis wrapped up their non-conference play Tuesday afternoon falling 8-1 to RIT. The lone winner for Houghton would come at first doubles with
Levi Webb and
Jaimie Staerkle grabbing the top flight 8-5. Houghton will now look to transition its' focus to Empire 8 Conference play where they start the hunt to make post season play. Houghton will have a home match against Utica Friday afternoon at 5pm, and then will play Saturday against rival Nazareth at 1pm in Rochester.
"The tough non-conference schedule that we had this Spring has come to an end and I am very pleased with our compete level as a team," Coach
Zach Shilvock said after the match. "These matches have prepared us well, but we are excited to get into Conference play. I am looking forward to this weekend where we will have two tough tests in Utica and Nazareth!"
