BROCKPORT, NY – Four athletes competed at Brockport on Friday and Saturday in the multi event competition.
Hayden Williamson,
Alexandria Wisniewski, and Katie Widmer competed in the Pentathlon event on Friday, while
Malachi Yeager did the two-day Heptathlon event. The Pentathlon includes the 60HH, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump, and 800m run. Hayden was the top finisher for the women, finishing 10
th with 2,351 points, and increasing her score by nearly 200 points from last year. She was less than 150 points from qualifying for the regional championship meet. Ali and Katie competed in the multi for the first time, finishing in 13
th and 15
th with 2,149 and 2,121 points, respectively. These scores put the ladies 5
th, 7
th and 9
th in the Empire 8 this season.
The Heptathlon event includes the 60m dash, long jump, shot put, and high jump on Friday evening, and the 60HH, pole vault, and 1,000m run on Saturday. Malachi finished 7
th overall, and just over 150 points off the regional championship standard. His best events included a 60m dash time of 7.56, high jump of 1.76m, and a long jump of 5.81m. Malachi's score puts him at #2 in the Empire 8 so far this season.
