GENEVA, NY – A tough William Smith defense stifled a Houghton Highlanders offense that had averaged over five goals a game entering today's matchup, limiting the Highlanders to only two shots in a 3-0 victory.
Libby Maxwell put the Herons on the board with what would be the game-winning goal in the third minute of play, depositing a pass from Kate Barilla into the back of the cage.
William Smith would tack on insurance goals in the 23
rd and 53
rd minutes of play to earn their sixth win of the season.
