GENEVA, NY –  A tough William Smith defense stifled a Houghton Highlanders offense that had averaged over five goals a game entering today's matchup, limiting the Highlanders to only two shots in a 3-0 victory. 
 
Libby Maxwell put the Herons on the board with what would be the game-winning goal in the third minute of play, depositing a pass from Kate Barilla into the back of the cage. 
 
William Smith would tack on insurance goals in the 23^rd and 53^rd minutes of play to earn their sixth win of the season.
