ROCHESTER, NY – The Houghton Highlanders found the back of the cage early and often, building a 5-0 lead by the half in route to a 7-0 victory over the Nazareth Golden Flyers.
Jace Hunzinger put the Highlanders on the board just over a minute into the game, scoring her sixth goal of the season on a pass from
Bekah Davie.
Less than a minute later
Deborah Cross added a goal of her own.
Cross would score again in the second quarter, and Davie would add three more to her conference-leading total, while
Madison Gancasz would round out the scoring with her first collegiate goal in the 49
th minute of play.
Davie's third and final goal of the day was the 45
th of her career, passing Lori Sheetz, and moving Davie into second place on the Houghton career goals-scored list. The only Houghton player to have scored more goals in a career than Davie is Kelly Mazzeo, with 54 career goals scored.
