The Houghton University Women's Tennis Team grabbed their first win of the Fall 2022 season with a huge 7-2 victory over Brockport. The key to the victory was sweeping the doubles scoreboard 3-0.
Chloe Esch and
Elise Swanson built off their win yesterday winning 8-2 at the first flight. Allie Leary and
Marilynn Amborski battled from behind coming out victorious 8-6, and the freshmen pairing of
Arija Grant and
Clancey Cockle picked up their first college wins respectively taking the third flight 8-7 (7-4) in a thriller.
In singles, Esch would cruise at the second spot 6-2, 6-0, Amborski at the third 6-4, 6-0, Leary taking the fifth 6-1, 6-2, and Grant winning 6-2, 6-0. In exhibition play,
Clancey Cockle would continue her victorious campaign topping her opponent 10-4.
"I loved every minute of the match today," Head Coach

Clancey Cockle for picking up their first collegiate wins in an amazing doubles victory. I am excited to keep building as a team!"
The Highlander's will enjoy the weekend and get back at it next Tuesday when they travel to Allegheny College.
