HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Peyton Bentley tallied eight points and
Jace Hunzinger tied a program record with four assists to lead Houghton field hockey to a Homecoming victory over the visiting Lancaster Bible Chargers on Saturday afternoon, 7-1.
Bentley scored three goals and dished out two assists to lead the high-scoring Highlander attack.
Just over one minute into the game Bentley found the back of the cage when the Chargers goalie stopped a shot from
Deborah Cross and Bentley cashed in on the rebound.
Ten minutes later, Bentley would score the game-winner after
Jace Hunzinger beat a defender on the wing and slotted a pass to the middle.
Houghton would score three goals in the first quarter, three more in the third quarter, and a final tally in the in the opening minute of the fourth. Lancaster Bible would pick up their lone goal in the 47
th minute.
