Highlanders Break Slump with 4-0 Win over Pitt-Brad

HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- After five-straight scoreless outings, Houghton men's soccer exploded for four goals to claim a dominant 4-0 win over Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday at Burke Field.

Houghton led 1-0 at the break, and broke through with three more tallies over the final 15 minutes of the contest.

DETAILS
>> The Highlanders had numerous scoring chances early, taking six shots, including four on goal, before Andy Loomis finally found the back of the net in the 19th minute. Loomis moved past several Panther defenders into the box and ripped a low shot from 8 yards out.
>> Pitt-Brad keeper Trevor Clark's sharp play kept the game from getting out of hand. Clark stopped a total of 13 shots on the night.
>> Houghton kept up the pressure in the second half and found their second goal off the foot of Caleb Bailey, who redirected a cross from Isaiah Miller just inside the near post in the 75th minute
>> Bailey tallied his second of the night just a minute later, taking a pass from Iann Dominic and quickly turning to fire a left footed shot past Clark
>> The Highlanders closed the scoring in the 77th minute when Levi Webb gathered a loose ball 15 yards out and ripped a shot through a maze of defenders and just inside the left post
