ITHACA, N.Y. -- Houghton women's tennis will take on #2 seed Nazareth College in the 2022 Empire 8 Tournament semifinals at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 14. The tournament, hosted by #1 seed Hartwick, will be played at Ithaca College.

Houghton is seeded #3. Hartwick will take on #4 Alfred in Friday's other semifinal.

The Highlanders will be looking to avenge a late-season 9-0 loss to the Golden Flyers. Houghton finished 7-5 during the regular season with a 5-2 mark in conference action. Their only E8 losses were to Hartwick and Nazareth.

Hartwick went undefeated in conference play while the only loss for the Golden Flyers was to the Hawks. Houghton defeated Alfred during the regular season, while the only conference losses for the Saxons were to the three teams seeded ahead of them.

The Empire 8 Champion will earn an automatic berth into the 2022-23 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, which begins May 5, 2023.
