Fredonia, NY– The Houghton College Men's lost to Fredonia in their second game of the Fredonia tournament Saturday afternoon.

The first half proved to be a defensive battle between the two teams, leading to a total of only three shots on goal in the first half (two for Houghton and one for Fredonia. 

Although this intensity would continue for the majority of the second half as well, the Highlanders were still able to find five opportunities to shoot on goal. None of these efforts would result in goals, leaving the Highlanders score stuck at 0 . As the game progressed and intensified, the Devils were able to get a goal off the foot of Jay Merlo in the 72nd minute of the match. Neither of the teams would be able to find the back of the net for the remainder of the match and Fredonia would capture the win 1-0. 

With the loss, the Highlanders dropped to 0-4 on the season. The Highlanders will return home to begin a three game home stint which will begin on Tuesday against SUNY Brockport on Burke Field at 7PM.
