HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Houghton College Field Hockey team picked up its first win of the season with a dominating 3-1 non-conference victory over Elmira College, Thursday, March 25. The Highlanders move to 1-1 on the season while Elmira drops 0-1.

Houghton went on a scoring spree, clocking all three of its goals within a six-minute span. Sarah Retz put the Highlanders on the board in the 19:40 mark before Peyton Bentley added on the insurance just two minutes later with an assist from Cedar Smith. Houghton's final goal came from the stick of Zoey Kasper who put it in the back of the cage from a pass from Retz in the 26^th minute.

The Soaring Eagles were able to beat the Houghton defense with an unassisted goal in the 44^th minute, but that would be as close as they could get to the Highlanders.
